Super Falcons Embarrass Zambia With 5:0 Drubbing At WAFCON

The Super Falcons on Friday produced a dominant performance to give Zambia a 5 nil hiding to book a place in the semi-finals of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations.
Osinachi Ohale rose above everyone else to make a clever contact with the ball with her head to send the goalkeeper the wrong way, from Esther Okoronkwo’s free-kick, with only 100 seconds played.
The Zambians didn’t give up without a fight with Chiamaka Nnadozie producing two stunning saves late in the half to keep Nigeria in the lead.
Esther Okoronkwo added the second goal from Ajibade’s impressive pass with a clinical finish in the 33rd minute.
On the stroke of halftime, Chinwendu Ihezuo finished off a long pass from Chiamaka Nnadozie to make it 3-0.
Defender Tosin Demehin scored with a header from a dead ball on the right before Folashade Ijamilusi made it 5-0 in the second half to seal Nigeria’s place in the last four in style.
In the semi finals, Nigeria will take on the winner of Saturday’s quarter final game between Cup holders South Africa and Senegal.
Rasheedat Ajibade was named the Woman of the Match, after providing two assists in the encounter.
