Super Eagles Midfielder Chrisantus Uche Set for Premier League Switch to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are close to completing the signing of Nigerian international midfielder Chrisantus Uche from La Liga side Getafe in a deal worth around €20 million.

Sources close to the negotiations confirmed on Sunday that the Premier League club have reached an agreement in principle with Getafe. Only final details and personal terms remain to be resolved. The 24-year-old is expected to undergo his medical in London in the coming days before signing a long-term contract.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the player flew into London on Sunday to complete his medical at Crystal Palace after a verbal agreement with the club.

”Christantus Uche is in London to sign at Crystal Palace today, as the deal is now verbally agreed.

“Getafe expect all formal steps to be respected on Monday to sell Uche.” Romano wrote on his X page.

Uche, who has impressed with his box-to-box displays in Spain, attracted interest from several European clubs following a strong campaign in La Liga last season.

His energy, passing range and ability to break up play have made him one of Getafe’s standout performers, as well as a regular feature in Nigeria’s Super Eagles setup.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been keen to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new season, and Uche’s arrival is expected to provide competition and depth alongside Cheick Doucouré and Jefferson Lerma.

Getafe, meanwhile, are reluctantly allowing the midfielder to leave after recognising the financial upside of the deal, with reports suggesting the transfer fee could include performance-related add-ons.
