Spotify Rolls Out Feature That Allow Users To Customize Playlist Cover Art
Spotify has introduced a new option for its users: custom playlist cover graphics. With brat summer spirit, the music streaming service update finally makes playlists more unique.
The company is rolling out collage in beta to Spotify listeners in English in 65 markets, replacing an AI tool for a platform that relies largely on algorithms.
In a press release, Spotify says the feature allows “users the ability to create their cover art with unique images, colours and text effects, graphic elements, and more, allowing them to make their music playlists more unique and personalized than ever before.”
The feature is currently available in 65 markets in beta on the Spotify mobile app for iOS and Android.
It is available for both free and paid users.
To use the functionality, choose which of your playlists you wish to generate custom art for. Then, on the playlist page, hit the three-dot menu and select “Create cover art”.
From there, you may upload a photo from your camera roll or begin with a blank canvas, and then experiment with other components such as font styles, colours and effects.
You can also modify the background colours and apply gradients. You can also add stickers.
Experts claimed that while the ability to design original cover art isn’t a big improvement to the streaming service, it’s entertaining. It also demonstrates Spotify’s ongoing attempts to provide customers with more ways to personalize their app experience.
For example, the company is presently beta-testing a tool that allows customers to create personalized playlists using written suggestions.
Spotify has been introducing new features to its app as it competes with rivals such as Apple Music and YouTube Music.
