A special national prayer will be observed in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday (today).

Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad made the disclosure in a post on his Facebook page on Friday morning.

According to him, aside from the National Mosque, the prayers will also be held in many Juma’at mosques across the country.

He wrote, “Today, a special national prayer will be held in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Mosque in Abuja, as well as in many Juma’at mosques across the country.

“We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts him, forgives his shortcomings and grants him eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus”.

DAILY POST reports that the former president passed away on Sunday in London, the United Kingdom, after a prolonged undisclosed illness.

His remains were interred on Wednesday in Daura, Katsina State with many dignitaries paying their last respects.
