South Africa vs Nigeria: Siasia names two players Chelle must pick for 2026 WCQ clash
Former Nigeria international, Samson Siasia, has advised the current head coach Eric Chelle, to maximise Ademola Lookman’s set-piece ability and Tolu Arokodare’s physical presence when they take on South Africa in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles gave themselves a slim chance at qualification with a 1-0 win over Rwanda last Saturday.
Arokodare came off the bench to grab what proved to be the winner in the 51st minute.
A win against the Bafana Bafana at the Free State Stadium could see Nigeria cut the gap to three points.
Speaking on SuperSport, Siasia said: “We need to keep the ball, win free-kicks, and allow players like Lookman to make the difference.
“Arokodare can also be important in holding up play and creating chances.”
He added: “Facing Nigeria has never been easy for South Africa, but we must have a clear plan.”
