Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has presented certificates of recognition to three newly elected Traditional Rulers of Nkwelle-Ezunaka in Oyi, Ihite in Orumba South, and Azia in Igwe Francis Chikezie of Azia.

The Governor presented the certificates at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, to the traditional rulers-elect, backed by their people, who have been without monarchs for various years.

They include Igwe Obiora Anachuna of Nkwelle Ezunaka, Igwe Timothy Ofurunwa of Ihite, and Igwe Francis Chikezie of Azia.

Under the laws of government and that of the land, Governor Soludo urged them not to joke with the reasons they were chosen and the mandate overwhelmingly given to them by their people.

The governor asked them to bring their communities together and ensure peace, progress, and security.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, revealed that the traditional rulers emerged through a rigorous screening process.

In a vote of thanks, Igwe Anachuna thanked the governor on behalf of the others for legalising their office.
