Sokoto Gov Honoured For Security Efforts
Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has received an ‘Award of Excellence’ from the Movement for Social Justice, recognizing his administration’s significant strides in enhancing security within the state.
The award was presented at a security stakeholders summit held at the government house.
The Movement for Social Justice, an organization dedicated to promoting justice, good governance, and accountability, cited Governor Aliyu’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of Sokoto residents, particularly those in the Sokoto East region, which has been grappling with banditry.
“On the basis of the sustained effort and commitment of his excellency towards improved security in the state, the Movement For Social Justice considered him worthy for an award,” stated Basharu Altine Guyawa Isa, chairman of the movement in Sokoto.
In addition to Governor Aliyu’s recognition, Alhaji Dadi Adare, the Commissioner for Local Government, was honored for his tireless efforts in driving community development initiatives.
The security stakeholders summit, where the awards were presented, brought together prominent security experts to deliberate on strategies to address the state’s security challenges.
The outcomes of these deliberations will be documented and presented to the state government as a roadmap for future action.
Governor Aliyu, upon receiving the award, expressed his gratitude and affirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of Sokoto State.
He also stated that the award served as a “clarion call for his administration to continue delivering good services for the general good of the state”.
Commissioner Adare, in his remarks, attributed his achievements to the support of Governor Aliyu and dedicated his award to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, acknowledging his political mentorship.
This recognition comes shortly after Governor Aliyu received the ‘Governor of the Year’ award from TheSun newspaper, further highlighting his administration’s achievements.
