Six abducted victims rescued as security forces confront bandits in Katsina village
Six people abducted by bandits were rescued after an attack on Lamuntani village in Goran Dansaka ward, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to a post shared on Thursday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident happened on Wednesday around 1:20 a.m. when bandits stormed the village.
Makama revealed that the bandits were confronted by police, military personnel, and local vigilantes, who engaged them in a gun battle, forcing the attackers to flee into the bush.
The rescued victims, who were unharmed, include Aisha Rilwanu, 12; Zainab Mansir, 15; Munnir Sani, 19; Salamatu Umar, 19; Asmau Sani, 10; and Jamila Nasiru, 21.
However, while fleeing, the bandits reportedly attacked nearby Santan Kargo village, shooting three people; Yusuf Yushau, 30; Ismail Abubakar, 21; and Abdulmumin Sani who were rushed to Malumfashi General Hospital for treatment.
Security forces are still searching for two missing victims as they intensify operations in the area.
