Residents of Faransi village in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State were thrown into shock after a member of the civilian Joint Task Force, known locally as Yansakai, allegedly opened fire inside a mosque.

According to reports by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident left one young man, Bawa Kiri injured from the gunshot. His father, Kiri Nyako, immediately reported the case to troops of the 1 Brigade Team stationed at Unashi.

The soldiers have since launched efforts to track down and arrest the suspected Yansakai member behind the attack.

Meanwhile, the injured youth has been taken to Ribah General Hospital in Zuru Local Government Area, where he is receiving treatment.

Details are still unclear as investigations continue.
