Security operatives rescue six kidnapped victims, recover rustled cattle in Kebbi
A joint security team in Kebbi State has rescued six kidnapped victims and recovered herds of rustled cattle during a coordinated operation in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area.
The victims, along with the livestock, were reportedly taken from Kokanawa and Ukuhu communities before security forces launched a pursuit operation.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, the Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, confirmed that the operation was ordered by Governor Nasir Idris in response to distress reports from the affected areas.
Zagga said the security team traced the armed bandits to the banks of the Zamfara River, where they successfully rescued the victims and recovered the stolen cattle. The suspects, however, managed to flee the scene.
“The six individuals have been safely reunited with their families,” he said.
