Rivers Sole Administrator Summons Governor Fubara, Deputy For Questioning

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has summoned the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to the Government House in Port Harcourt.
They are to appear before Ibas in person on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10 a.m., in the conference room of the Rivers State Government House.
A public announcement by the secretary to the Rivers State government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, said the governor and his deputy are being summoned for questioning.
According to Worika, the summons was part of an official inquiry into appointments made by Fubara during his less than two years of administration.
The notice to Fubara directed him to present comprehensive documentation and records related to appointments made while in office, including the rationale and procedures that guided those decisions.
The inquiry, the announcement added, would also allow the suspended governor to provide a clear and detailed explanation as to why he believes he should be reinstated to office.
The notice stated that attendance was mandatory and that it formed part of what the Sole Administrator described as a broader effort to restore transparency, accountability, and lasting peace in the governance of Rivers State.
