Rivers Sole Administrator Denies Summoning Fubara, To Investigate Source Of Fake News

In a statement released on April 16, 2025, Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has denied summoning Governor Siminalayi Fubara for a probe or appointing Mr Chidi Lloyd and Samuel Ishi Nwanosike to any government offices.
Ibas, however, has ordered an investigation into the online reports circulating about unfounded appointments allegedly made by him.
The move is aimed at clarifying the situation and putting an end to the speculation.
He added that the LGA Sole Administrators’ Status Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas also clarified that the Local Government Area (LGA) Sole Administrators have not yet been administered their oaths of office, further emphasising the need for accuracy.
The statement reads:
“GOVERNMENT OF RIVERS STATE,
OFFICE OF THE SOLE ADMINISTRATOR,
GOVERNMENT HOUSE, PORT HARCOURT.
‘REFUTAL’.
Nowhere did I ever summon His Excellency, Governor Fubara, for any probe.
Nowhere did I ever appoint Mr Chidi Lloyd and Samuel Ishi Nwanosike into any Rivers government office.
I have ordered investigations into all the series of online releases making the rounds about unfounded appointments coming from me.
The LGA Sole Administrators have yet to be administered their oaths of office.
