According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, on March 8, 2025, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit conducted a coordinated operation that resulted in the arrest of five suspected kidnappers.

She noted that the operation, which lasted for eight hours, was carried out by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, acting on actionable intelligence.

She explained that the suspects were arrested in connection with a series of kidnapping incidents within the Rukpokwu, Igwuruta, Omagwa, and Etche areas.

According to Iringe-Koko, the suspects have been identified as Mohammadu Bello, 30 years old, from Padiki LGA of Kwara State, residing in Rukpokwu; Suleman Umar, 26 years old, from Hadeja LGA of Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu; Bello Amadu, 35 years old, from Keffi-Hausa LGA of Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu; Adamu Musa, 30 years old, from Hadeja LGA of Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu; and Abubakar Mohammed, 22 years old, from Azare LGA of Bauchi State, residing in Rukpokwu.

She further stated that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to multiple kidnapping activities, including the tragic killing of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Omagwa.

Recall that the CSO and his son were murdered in cold blood.

She added that the operatives recovered several exhibits from the suspects, including two AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, sixty-six rounds of ammunition, three locally made pistols, ten live cartridges, and several mobile phones and SIM cards.

She disclosed that the suspects are currently in police custody and are cooperating with investigators.

She added that efforts are ongoing to uncover details of other crimes committed by the syndicate and arrest others at large.

Consequently, she assured the public of its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
