Rivers LG Administrator Seeks FG’s Support Amidst Security, Infrastructure Challenges

The Administrator of Andoni Local Government Area in Rivers State, Atajit Francis, has called on the Federal Government to provide more support to the area, citing limited resources and insecurity challenges.
Francis made the plea when he received the Obolo Media Forum, led by its Chairman, Gogo Rufus, who visited him in his office in Ngo town, the headquarters of the council.
According to Francis, despite Andoni’s substantial contribution to Nigeria’s economy through oil, the area lacks basic infrastructure and federal presence.
He emphasized the need for improved security, infrastructure development, and investment opportunities to attract federal support and attention.
“We need more support from the Federal Government to address the security challenges and infrastructure deficits in our area,” he said.
The Administrator thanked the Obolo Media Forum for visiting him and promised to support their efforts to highlight Andoni’s needs.
He appreciated the group’s commendation of his initiatives, including engaging sanitation marshals and employing persons from various wards to improve the sanitary conditions of primary schools and communities across the local government area.
However, Rufus, Chairman of the Obolo Media Forum, commended Francis’s initiatives and urged him to continue his good work.
He requested assistance with mobility to enable the Administrator to effectively carry out his duties and prayed for his tenure to be extended to ensure continued progress and development in Andoni Local Government Area.
He said the visit by the Obolo Media Forum is a significant step towards highlighting the challenges faced by Andoni Local Government Area and seeking support from the Federal Government.
As Francis noted, “We need all the support we can get to develop our area and improve the lives of our people. With the group’s help, it is hoped that Andoni’s needs will receive the attention they deserve.”
