Rivers Ijaw Stakeholders Plan Grand Welcome For Wike

Despite the political situation in Rivers State, stakeholders from the Kalabari Kingdom are gearing up to give a grand reception to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State.
The event, scheduled for March 15th, is expected to be a massive celebration, with stakeholders mobilizing to shut down Asari-Toru Local Government Area.
The reception is being organized by the NEW Associates, a group of Ijaw stakeholders who are eager to honor Wike’s achievements and contributions to the region.
The event promises to be a memorable one, with various activities and performances lined up to celebrate Wike’s legacy.
The Chairman, Publicity Committee, Dr. Enemi Alabo George, said in Port Harcourt on Thursday that chiefs, leaders, women and youths were excited that Wike, a friend of the kingdom, was visiting Kalabari.
George said the event was arranged at Abalama Town as a thanksgiving service and a grand civic reception in honour of the former governor for his love for the Kalabari Kingdom.
“All stakeholders in Kalabari are eagerly waiting to receive the FCT Minister and to show him gratitude. March 15 has been set aside to celebrate Chief Nyesom Wike for his love for the Kalabari Kingdom and its people.
“He has done much for the kingdom and he deserves to be celebrated. We are calling on our chiefs, leaders, women, youths and stakeholders of the Kalabari kingdom to make that day special”, he said.
