Rivers Government To Re-verify Pensioners

The Rivers State Government has announced a re-verification exercise for all pensioners under its payroll, as approved by the Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.
The exercise, according to a statement by the state Acting Head of Service Dr Inyingi Brown, aims to update the state’s records and ensure that pensioners receive their benefits efficiently.
The statement noted that Pensioners are expected to attend the re-verification exercise on the designated dates and venues based on their banks.
The statement reads: “Those banking with Access Bank, Eco Bank, and First Bank are scheduled to appear on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at The Ministry of Justice Conf. Hall, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt. Pensioners banking with FCMB Bank are also scheduled for the same day, but at a different venue, the Main Bowl, Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.
“On Friday, August 15, 2025, pensioners banking with Fidelity Bank, Globus Bank, and GTB will undergo the re-verification exercise at The Ministry of Justice Conf. Hall, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt. Those with Polaris Bank are scheduled for the same day at the Main Bowl, Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.
“The re-verification exercise will continue on Saturday, August 16, 2025, for pensioners banking with Heritage Bank, Keystone Bank, Mayfresh Bank, Premium Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Sterling Bank, Suntrust Bank, and Titan Trust Bank at The Ministry of Justice Conf. Hall, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt. Those with UBA Bank are scheduled for the same day at the Main Bowl, Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.
“Pensioners banking with Unity Bank are scheduled to appear on Monday, August 18, 2025, at The Ministry of Justice Conf. Hall, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt, while those with Union Bank will undergo the exercise at the Main Bowl, Civic Centre, Port Harcourt on the same day.
“The re-verification exercise for pensioners banking with Zenith Bank and those resident in Bonny will hold on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at The Ministry of Justice Conf. Hall, State Secretariat Complex, and Bonny Local Government Area Council Headquarters.”
Dr Brown noted that during the re-verification exercise, pensioners are required to come along with their bank BVN (with picture showing), a passport photograph, and pension ID card, adding that the exercise is part of the state’s efforts to improve pension management and ensure that pensioners receive their benefits promptly.
