Rivers CP Orders ‘Detailed Investigation’ Of Pastor Allegedly Involved In Defilement Of 10 Yr Old Girl

The pastor of a popular Pentecostal church branch, simply identified as Lucky, who allegedly defiled a ten-year-old girl in the Ihuaje community in the Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, was transferred from the Ahoada Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt, on Friday, 30th May 2025, on the directive of the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, for a detailed investigation. The Organised Security Planning and Advisory Committee, OSPAC in Ahoada East, led by its commander, Precious Ihuruzu, had on Tuesday, 27th May 2025, arrested Pastor Lucky, who is also a school proprietor in the Ihuaje community and handed him over to the Ahoada Police Division.
Confirming the development, Prince Wiro, National Coordinator of the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, one of the rights advocates monitoring the case, said the suspect,(Pastor), the alleged victim (a ten-year-old girl) and her parents were brought to SCIID, PH, on Friday afternoon with the case file where the matter was transferred to.
Mr Wiro called for an unbiased investigation.
He said, “We can confirm the transfer of the case to SCIID PH. We demand an unbiased investigation into the alleged defilement of the ten-year-old girl by the pastor. Let the investigation by the investigators at SCIID be concluded on time, and if the pastor is found culpable in the course of the investigation, he should be arraigned in court to face trial. We equally demand adequate protection for the alleged victim and her parents by the police.”
A gender and child rights advocate, Otobo Denis, in an earlier interview with journalists, had narrated how the teenage girl was allegedly given five hundred naira by the pastor anytime he (the pastor) had carnal knowledge of the minor.
Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko, had earlier confirmed the arrest of the pastor while adding that an investigation is ongoing.
