Rivers APC Endorses State Of Emergency, Passes Vote Of Confidence On State Chairman

The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has unanimously endorsed the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
At a meeting held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the State Party Secretariat in Port Harcourt, the committee described the President’s decision as “swift and timely” to restore law and order and forestall a total breakdown of peace in the state.
The meeting, which was attended by the Chairmen of the APC in the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State, also passed a vote of confidence on Sir (Chief) Tony Okocha, the Chairman of the APC in Rivers State.
The committee praised Chief Okocha’s leadership, describing it as “visionary,” “pragmatic,” “dynamic,” and “effective.”
They also affirmed their total and unflinching support and loyalty for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The meeting adopted the position of Chief Okocha on the declaration of a state of emergency in the state, which was made public on March 19, 2025, as the official position of the APC in Rivers State.
Furthermore, the State Executive Committee congratulated Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd) on his appointment as the sole administrator of Rivers State and pledged the full cooperation of the APC as a responsible political party in the state.
