Rights group condemns father for tying, beating his children in Kano

The Awareness for Human Rights and Charity Foundation has condemned the actions of a father in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State who allegedly abused his children by tying them with ropes and flogging them like animals.
In a statement issued to newsmen, the organisation’s National President, Comrade Auwal Usman Awareness, described the act as inhumane, unlawful, and a gross violation of the rights of children.

According to the group, the father subjected his child to the cruel treatment simply because the boy, who was sent to sell sachet water, returned without bringing back the full money from sales.

“Reports reaching us from Gezawa reveal that a father is maltreating his children by tying them with ropes and beating them mercilessly like animals,” Awareness said.

He added that the organisation would take all necessary steps to protect the affected children and ensure that the father faces justice for his actions.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to defending the rights of children and the vulnerable against abuse, exploitation, or any form of oppression, while promoting justice and dignity in society.
