Residents cry for help as 3 days rainfall collapses bridge in Plateau

Heavy rainfall explained in Shedam Local government area of Plateau State has led to the collapse of a bridge along Shedam-Garkawa road.

The bridge links different parts of the state.

DAILY POST reports that the collapse of the bridge has caused a lot of hardship in the area as it is the route used by farmers and traders to transport their goods.

Residents of the area are appealing to government to immediately come to their aid, saying that the collapse of the bridge has made lives unbearable.

“The bridge initially collapsed last year and partial repairs was done but it didn’t work. That is why it collapsed again,” one of the residents said.

Residents and commuters have called on the government to help repair the bridge to enable free movement of people and goods in order to alleviate the suffering they are passing through.
