‘Remove The Beads…Free My Son’ — 2Baba’s Mother Begs Natasha Osawaru

Rose Idibia, the mother of Nigerian singer Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, has called on Nigerians to help “beg” Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, to set her son free.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Mrs. Idibia claimed that her son is “not in his right senses” following his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.

She appealed to the 31-year-old lawmaker representing Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly to remove the beads she allegedly put on 2Baba’s neck and wrist.

She said, “Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.

“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him. Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him.”

THE WHISTLER reported that a video surfaced on Thursday showing 2Baba presenting an engagement ring to Osawaru — a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and granddaughter of billionaire Gabriel Igbinedion.

The proposal came just a day after 2Baba publicly confirmed his romance with Osawaru, which was welcomed with mixed reactions.

2Baba took to Instagram on Tuesday, February 11, to defend the lawmaker over claims that Osawaru played a role in his split from Annie.

“I have seen so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted,” he said.

“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labeled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, and she is cool. I want to marry her.”

The singer further declared his love for the lawmaker and plans to marry her. “Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her,” he affirmed.

On Wednesday morning, February 12, 2Baba made another Instagram post where he shared a picture of Osawaru, with the caption, “Now this is my world. Make una help me beg am to marry me.”

The singer confirmed his split from Annie, his wife of over a decade, on January 26, 2025.

Annie reportedly met 2Baba when she was 15 years old. The duo tied the knot in Dubai in 2013 and have two children together.
