Project Saboteurs Face Arrest, Edo Govt Warns

The Edo State Government has warned individuals encroaching on its construction sites, vowing to arrest and prosecute any trespassers found near ongoing public projects.

In a statement on Sunday, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paul Ohonbamu, said the government will no longer tolerate sabotage or interference with its infrastructural development efforts.

“The government uses this medium to sound a note of warning to them to desist from such acts, because anyone caught will be prosecuted,” the Commissioner said.

He urged residents to be vigilant, protect ongoing projects in their communities, and imbibe a culture of maintenance and ownership of government infrastructure.

Ohonbamu listed key sites such as the Ramat Park Flyover, secondary school renovations, and road construction projects across the state, noting that all are being executed by reputable firms under the close supervision of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

“These projects are part of the Governor’s vision to transform the state through infrastructure and improve the economic well-being of our people,” he added.

The Commissioner emphasised that the ongoing developments, which are driven under the SHINE Agenda are beginning to open up rural communities and improve connectivity across the state.
