‘Pounded yam and okro soup’ – Chelsea star, Tosin Adarabioyo names favourite meal
Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has named his favourite Nigerian dish.
According to him, he enjoys pounded yam and okro soup more than any other Nigerian meal.
Adarabioyo, 27, is seriously considering his international future as he remains eligible to play either Nigeria or England.
He joined Chelsea from Fulham in 2024 and has established himself as one of the top defenders in Enzo Maresca’s team.
He spoke about his favourite food and other things after helping Chelsea beat Fluminense FC 2-0 in the FIFA Club World semifinal at the MetLife Stadium in the United States.
Chelsea now await the winner of the semifinal game between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
In a video posted on X, Adarabioyo was asked about his favourite dish, smiled and responded: “Pounded yam and okro soup.”
Adarabioyo was born in London, United Kingdom, to Nigerian parents.
He has featured for England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels.
