Famous Nollywood actor Olusegun Akinremi, professionally known as Chief Kanran, is dead.

The actor reportedly died at the age of 72 on Friday morning.

Seun Oloketuyi, a popular filmmaker, announced the actor’s passing in a post on Instagram.

“Popular actor, Segun Remi died Friday morning,” he wrote.

At the time of filing this report, details about his death were still sketchy.

DAILY POST reports that Chief Kanran, who was a household name in the Yoruba film industry, was known for his role as General Philips in episode 13 of the now-rested TV soap Megafortune.
