Five children suspected to have been abducted and brought from Maiduguri, Borno State, to Adamawa have successfully been rescued by the Adamawa State Police Command.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the state police command spokesman, in a statement, explained that on 13th September, 2025, the Area Commander Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha, acting on credible information, led his surveillance team and rescued five male children found roaming aimlessly the streets of Mubi town.

According to the statement, “The affected children were identified as: Adamu Musa (16), Suleiman Idris (10), Suleiman Mohammed (11), Dauda Yahaya (11) and Mohammed Alhassan (11), who were all residents of Gwange, in Maiduguri, Borno State.”

The victims, according to investigation, stated that they were unlawfully taken from Maiduguri by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, Maiduguri, who is currently at large.

It said that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.
