Police rescue five abducted children in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five children believed to have been abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State, and trafficked to Adamawa.

The children all residents of Gwange in Maiduguri include Adamu Musa, Suleiman Idris, Suleiman Mohammed, Dauda Yahaya, and Mohammed Alhassan.

According to the Command, the rescue was carried out on September 13, 2025, when the Area Commander of Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha, acting on credible intelligence, led his team to intercept the children who were found wandering the streets of Mubi town.

Police investigations has revealed that the children had been taken from Maiduguri by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, who is currently on the run.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, CP Dankombo Morris, praised the Area Commander and his team for the operation. He said the State Criminal Investigation Department has been directed to take over the case and ensure the suspect is arrested.

Morris also gave assurance that the children will be reunited with their parents.
