Police Raid IPOB/ESN Hideout, Arrest Suspects
The Imo State Police Command has raided a suspected hideout of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) hideout at Cameron Street, Ubahu in Okigwe local government area of Imo State.
According to the Command’s spokesman, Henry Okoye, the tactical unit in synergy with local vigilante group acted on credible intelligence, which led to the arrest of three suspects.
He said the two suspects escaped with various degree’s of bullet wounds while fire arms and a sum of N10.3m was recovered at the crime scene.
He said, “The Imo State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has continued to sustain its operational momentum against criminal elements threatening public safety in the state.
“On April 17, 2025, at about 0120hrs, operatives of the Command’s Tactical Teams, in synergy with local vigilante groups, acted on credible intelligence and stormed a suspected IPOB/ESN hideout on Cameron Street, Ubahu, in Okigwe LGA.
“On sighting the operatives, the suspects opened fire, resulting in a gun battle during which three suspects were arrested, namely: Onyekaba Ikenna Innocent (21), Ugwu Ikenna (31), and Ofor Kasarachi (37), while two others escaped into the surrounding bushes.
“Recovered from the scene were one AK-47 riffle, two pump-action guns, eighteen live cartridges, mobile devices, laptops, and ₦10.3m in cash. Investigations reveals the money was contributed by IPOB members to finance terrorism.”
