The Anambra State Police Command is investigating the cause of death of a man whose body was found hanging on a tree.

The deceased person’s body was found Friday in a bush at Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area.

The command revealed on Saturday that an unidentified person called through the deceased person’s phone to report the discovery of the body.

It noted that the body has been identified and deposited in the morgue and efforts are ongoing to contact the family for necessary action.

The Anambra Police Commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu, ordered officers of the command to “uncover the circumstances surrounding a disturbing incident” and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
