President Bola Tinubu, Barau Jibrin 2027 Campaign Billboard Vandalised In Kano State

The Kano State Police Command has condemned a viral video showing some individuals vandalising a 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign billboard bearing images of President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, among others.

The billboard, titled “Fatan Alheri” which means “Best Wishes” in Hausa was seen in the footage being forcefully pulled down and torn apart by visibly angry citizens.

Responding to the incident, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Hussaini Abdullahi, described the perpetrators as “unpatriotic,” and the act as both “criminal” and a “security threat.”

“The Kano State Police Command is miffed by a disturbing viral video showing some unpatriotic individuals engaging in acts of vandalism and destruction of property on the roads in the state,” Abdullahi stated.

“This unwarranted act is not only disrespectful but also criminal and constitutes a security threat that will not be tolerated.”

He revealed that the Command has begun investigating and profiling those behind the act, with a view to prosecuting them.

“The Command warns the public, especially the youth, that any form of vandalism and destruction of property will be treated seriously.

“The law will take its course, and anyone found culpable will be brought to justice,” he warned.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, urged citizens to remain law-abiding and refrain from any conduct capable of disrupting public peace or undermining the relative stability currently enjoyed in the state.
