Police investigate killing of Adamawa man by Customs’ officer’s ‘accidental discharge’
The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced investigation into the killing of 35-year-old Ibrahim Usman of Mujara, Mubi South LGA, by a stray bullet reportedly discharged by a patrol team of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Ibrahim Musa did not survive the shooting.
The state Police Command which said on Thursday that the incident occurred in the evening of the previous day, 16/07/2025, added that upon receipt of the distress call, officers from ADSU Gude Divisional Police headquarters acted promptly.
“The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Mubi, where he was later confirmed dead,” the Command said in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
“The Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, has notified relevant Customs authorities and has detailed operatives from the State CID to discreetly investigate and report,” Nguroje stated.
He assured members of the public that justice will be served and the outcome of the investigation will be communicated in due course.
