Police Foil Kidnap In Anambra, Rescue Couple

Police operatives attached to the Neni divisional headquarters in Anambra State have foiled a kidnap incident and rescued three victims including a couple.
A terse statement by the Anambra Police Command, signed by its spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Sunday, revealed that the incident occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday.
The statement noted that the operatives recovered two vehicles belonging to the victims — one was retrieved from the scene of the foiled kidnap.
The second vehicle, the command said, was used by the assailants to escape from the scene.
In a subsequent attempt to arrest the criminals, a Joint Security Force, comprising the Military, Civil Defence and Vigilantes recovered the second vehicle.
Tochukwu said the recovered Black Lexus 350 SUV with Reg. No: ABJ 557 LD was snatched from one of the rescued victims.
The Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, urged residents to remain vigilant and partner with security agencies to maintain peace and security in the State.
