Police Commence Investigation Into Bomb Explosion In Imo

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed a bomb explosion that occurred on Sunday.

Residents of Umuneke Obazu Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area were on Sunday morning rattled and thrown into confusion by an explosion suspected to be a bomb explosion.

According to the Commands Spokesperson Henry Okoye who confirmed the exploration stated that the Command has commenced a full investigation into the blast and revealed that no casualty was recorded.

He also revealed that the blast affected a newly completed building which is yet to be occupied which according to sources from the village belonged to a couple who wants to pack into the house in February.

While assuring calm and normalcy to residents of the community, he revealed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, along with the command’s Anti-Bomb Squad had already visited the site of the explosion and made it safe.
