The Kebbi State Police Command has begun a statewide operation targeting vehicles with illegal tinted windows, fake or covered number plates, unregistered vehicles, and unauthorised use of sirens.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, who issued the directive, ordered all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical teams to intensify enforcement and arrest violators immediately. He said any vehicle found to be in breach of these laws will be impounded, with fake plates and sirens confiscated on the spot.

The Command reiterated that only authorised individuals and agencies are permitted to use sirens. These include the President and Vice President, leadership of the National Assembly, State Governors and their deputies, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, as well as vehicles belonging to the Military, Police, Paramilitary agencies, Fire Service, ambulances, and bullion vans escorted by security personnel.

CP Sani warned that the abuse of diplomatic plates, use of unregistered vehicles, and unauthorised sirens remain serious offences under existing regulations.

He appealed to the general public to cooperate with security operatives by adhering to the law and reporting any violations to the police.
