Police Arrest Son Over Mother’s Death
The Delta State Police Command is investigating the death of a School Proprietress, Fatima Umukoro allegedly killed by her son, Emmanuel Umukoro.
According to reports, the deceased was seen in her residence burnt beyond recognition on the night of the incident.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the gate to the residence was unusually open, causing neighbours to pry.
Upon entering, the residence was seen to be on fire while the son drove out in his mother’s car at high speed.
The case was reported to police operatives in the state, who subsequently apprehended the suspect along Sapele-Warri Road.
The son, according to the report had attempted to escape when he was arrested.
The Spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe while confirming the incident said, “The son is in police custody now but cannot say whether he’s the one that killed her until investigation is concluded.”
