The Niger State Police Command’s Anti-Thuggery Squad has arrested nine suspects in connection with thuggery activities and the recovery of dangerous weapons in parts of Minna.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the arrests were made during a sting operation in Soje A, Soje B and Kpakungu areas of Minna between 2 am and 5 am on August 26, 2025.

He explained that the operation was part of the police command’s ongoing efforts to tackle thuggery and other vices in the state, following credible intelligence.

The suspects, aged between 14 and 27, include Sani Musa, Nura Musa, Idris Aliyu, Ibrahim Mohammed, Abubakar Mohammed, Abdulhadi Mustapha, Jamilu Mustapha, Bilal Saminu and Jafar Saminu.

Items recovered during the operation included two suspected stolen solar batteries, five knives, cutlasses and a digger.
