Police Arrest Man Over Stolen Vehicle In Abia

Abia State Police Command has arrested Emeka Edwin Chukwuma, a native of Umuchu in Aguata LGA, Anambra State over a stolen Toyota Highlander SUV.
It said the vehicle with reg No. BBR667RM) was reportedly stolen in Akwa Ibom in 2022. The vehicle was recovered during the arrest.
According to the Police public relations officer DSP Maureen Chinaka, the breakthrough came through credible intelligence.
She also disclosed that the complainant has been contacted to verify ownership while investigations continue.
“In furtherance of investigations into a case of a stolen vehicle reported in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022, but suspected to have been moved to Abia State, leveraging on credible and actionable intelligence, operatives of the Scorpion Squad Abia State Police Command, on 22/08/2025 recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV with Registration Number BBR667RM and apprehended one Emeka Edwin Chukwuma, a native of Umuchu, Aguata LGA, Anambra State, in relation to the incident
“The complainant has been contacted to aid in ascertaining the originality and ownership of the recovered vehicle. Meanwhile, further investigations are ongoing”.
