Performance, Not Propaganda Will Define Anambra Election-Soludo

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has told Anambra indigenes in the United States that his re-election bid will be driven by performance, not promises.

Speaking at a town hall meeting with the Anambra Diaspora community in Maryland, USA, on Sunday, the governor said the event was not a campaign, but part of a deliberate effort to report back to citizens, regardless of where they live.

“This is not a campaign tour. It’s about accountability. Governance is a contract that must be honoured not only at home, but with those abroad who have a stake in Anambra’s future,” Soludo said.

The Maryland meeting is the latest in a series of Diaspora engagements following earlier sessions in Lagos, Abuja, and the UK/Europe.

At each stop, Soludo presented his three-year scorecard, updated citizens on state progress, and outlined the road ahead.

“While others flood the airwaves, I’m reporting to the people. We are letting our record speak—because performance will always outweigh propaganda,” he added.

According to a statement by Christian Aburime, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Soludo’s presentation detailed key strides under his Solution Agenda.

This includes the deployment of community-led Agunechemba operations and tech-driven surveillance and the ongoing urban renewal and major road construction across all zones

Others also include the free public schooling, system overhaul, and mass teacher recruitment; new general hospitals, upgrades, free antenatal care, staff expansion and youth empowerment, investment drive, and industrialisation push.

These, the governor said, are not theoretical plans but real projects already impacting lives across the state.

Governor Soludo also acknowledged the critical role of the Diaspora in Anambra’s development, describing them as key contributors through investments, philanthropy, and professional expertise.

“Many of you are building hospitals, funding education, and supporting local businesses,” he told the audience. “This meeting is about aligning your efforts with our vision.”

He said the town hall was not a political spectacle but a strategic engagement that reflects his commitment to inclusive and transparent governance.

“Leadership should not pause for elections. Governance is a continuous responsibility and accountability should never take a back seat,” he noted.
