PDP Relocates Venue Of BoT Meeting As FCTA Seals Party Secretariat

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has moved the meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) from the national secretariat to the party’s presidential campaign office, Legacy House, located in the Maitama District, Abuja.
The venue of the meeting was changed following the sealing on Monday, of the national secretariat by officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA).
The FCTA officials, accompanied by armed policemen, stormed the expansive complex on Monday afternoon and locked the main entrance to the building.
According to earlier notice issued to the party and other establishment within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the PDP has failed to pay ground rents for the building in 28 years.
The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, had a few months ago, issued a revocation notice for the plot of land housing the PDP national secretariat.
The sealing exercise affected many other establishment buildings for failing to pay ground rents for a number of years.
Some of the establishments that had their buildings sealed on Monday included Access Bank, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) among many others.
