PDP Executives In Atiku Ward Dump PDP

A wave of resignations has hit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jada 1 Ward, Adamawa State, as several key grassroots leaders announced their departure from the party, citing a loss of direction, internal disillusionment, and failure of leadership.

Those who exited include top officials such as Ahmed Babalele, who served nearly two terms as Local Government Party Chairman; Amina Umar, who led the ward for four years; Babangida Buba, former ex officio member for eight years; and Bamanga Kawuyo, who was Local Government Youth Leader for almost four years, among others.

In his letter, Abdullahi Babalele said, “I hereby formally resign my membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) effective immediately.

“This decision stems from my deep concern over the party’s declining commitment to purposeful and visionary leadership…

“I can no longer, in good conscience, remain part of an organisation that no longer reflects the ideals of service, integrity and democratic process.”

While these resignations rocked the local PDP structure in Jada, the strongest signal came later when former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who hails from the same ward, also announced his departure from the party.

In his resignation letter, Atiku stated, “As a founding father of this esteemed party, it is indeed heartbreaking for me to make this decision. However, I find it necessary to part ways due to the current trajectory the party has taken, which I believe diverges from the foundational principles we stood for.”

“I wish the Party and its leadership all the best in the future. Thank you once again for the opportunities and support.”

The string of coordinated exits from Atiku’s stronghold seems to mark a major blow to the PDP’s standing in Adamawa and signals growing discontent within the party’s rank and file.
