Pi Network Migration Problems Worsen Globally as Team Flags New Risks in China

Pi Network has declared its Pi2Day 2025 celebration a major success, driven by strong global engagement and rapid growth in its developer ecosystem.

The highlight of this year’s festivities was the Pi Ecosystem Challenge, which ran from June 28 to July 7 and encouraged users—known as Pioneers—to build, explore, and interact with new tools and apps within the Pi ecosystem.

The network reported that over 2.6 million Pioneers joined the Challenge, with 761,000 completing all eight required tasks. Those who finished received an exclusive badge, marking their contribution to the evolving Pi landscape.

A major catalyst behind this surge in activity was the recent launch of Pi App Studio, a no-code, AI-driven platform that allows users to build fully functional apps without prior coding knowledge.

Since its release, more than 34,800 users have used the platform, creating over 7,600 chatbot apps and 14,100 custom apps. The app-building excitement extended beyond public listings, with many unpublished apps also being developed.

Among the standout community creations are Pi-Tris, a Tetris-inspired puzzle game; BLACKHOLE, a chatbot with a space theme; Healthy Life, which offers wellness tips; and FlapPi Bird, a playful flying game.

Despite the creativity, Pi Network has reminded users that apps made via App Studio are not officially reviewed or verified, and should be accessed cautiously through the Pi Browser.

Another important feature unveiled during this period was Ecosystem Directory Staking, which allows Pioneers to stake their Pi tokens to support apps they believe in. So far, over 37.7 million Pi have been staked, with more than 25 million Pi still locked in ongoing votes. In total, over 16,700 Pioneers have staked tokens across more than 1,450 different apps.

The Pi Core Team thanked the community for its enthusiasm, innovation, and active participation, reinforcing the belief that Pioneers are vital to building a decentralised ecosystem at scale.
