Over $3.3B in Crypto Tokens Set to Unlock in June as Projects Hit Vesting Milestones
The month of June will see the release of roughly $3.3 billion worth of crypto tokens into the market as vesting schedules conclude across several high-profile blockchain platforms. According to data from Tokenomist, this marks a 32% drop from May’s $4.9 billion in unlocks.
These releases include both cliff unlocks — large, lump-sum token distributions totalling around $1.4 billion — and linear unlocks, which will distribute the remaining $1.9 billion gradually over time.
The unlocks are part of previously agreed schedules involving project teams, early investors, and community stakeholders, and could influence market behaviour as circulating supplies expand.
Among the most significant events, Metars Genesis (MRS) is scheduled to release $193 million in tokens on June 21 as part of an initiative tied to artificial intelligence partnerships. Since March, MRS has been steadily unlocking 10 million tokens monthly and has already released nearly $1 billion worth.
Sui (SUI) will follow closely, unlocking 44 million tokens, worth around $160 million, on June 1. The tokens will be distributed to the Mysten Labs treasury, early contributors, and community reserves, with over $70 million designated for Series B investors. So far, Sui has unlocked $12 billion worth of tokens, accounting for about one-third of its total supply, with another $20 billion still locked without a set release timeline.
Several other blockchain initiatives will also release substantial token allocations throughout the month. Fasttoken (FTN) is unlocking 20 million tokens valued at $88 million, mainly for its founding team. LayerZero (ZRO) will release $71 million for core contributors and partners, while Aptos (APT) will distribute 11.31 million tokens, worth about $61 million, to team members and investors.
ZKsync (ZK) is expected to release over 760 million tokens, valued at $49 million, to its early supporters and team members. Arbitrum (ARB) is also included in June’s unlock schedule. These events are closely monitored by analysts, as they can create selling pressure or shift investor sentiment depending on market conditions.
