Otti Commissions First Smart School In Abia

Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti has commissioned the first smart school built by the Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa.

Hon. Osonwa had last month hinted that the initiative is borne out of passion and concern for the future of youths who will take over the mantle of leadership but needs to be provided with befitting learning space and state-of-the-art technology that would facilitate that and give them focus to achieve their dreams and ambitions as they advance their education.

The lawmaker who represents Ohafia/Arochukwu federal Constituency disclosed that the initiative aims to leverage affordable modern technology to enhance the quality of education for students in Ohafia LGA, which marks a significant step toward educational reform, emphasizing the importance of integrating technology into affordable learning environments.

According to the lawmaker, the transformation of Ofali Agwu Secondary School Amaekpu Ohafia will incorporate advanced technological tools and resources.

The features will include interactive learning systems, computerized boards, and high-speed internet access, solar-powered electricity.

This modern infrastructure designed and installed by EQH WOBII LTD will facilitate innovative teaching approaches and enhance the overall educational experience for both students and teachers.

The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, EQH WOBII LTD and manufacturers of the smart board, Sir Gbolahan Olayomi, explained that teachers will be intensively trained on how to properly make use of the Smartboard and this Will be done across Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas.

Students will benefit from a more engaging and interactive curriculum, equipping them with essential skills for future challenges.

Teachers will have access to modern teaching tools, enhancing their instructional methods. Additionally, the transformation is expected to lead to improved student performance and higher educational standards in the community.

The Smart School Project according to the lawmaker will be replicated across Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas.

Speaking during the Commissioning of the project, Governor Otti, commended the lawmaker for launching a smart school initiative at Ofali Agwu School on Wednesday.

He said: “What has been achieved here will set the standard for all schools in Abia State.

“I thank Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa for leading the way, and we will all follow suit”, the Governor assured.
