The Rector Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Dr. Christopher Okoro Kalu says the institution has initiated the process of paying all sacked staff.

Dr. Okoro who made this revelation while interacting with newsmen in Umuahia, said this was in line with the directive of Governor Otti who had previously directed that every sacked worker in the previous administration would be fully paid.

In his words , “His Excellency is very intentional about the welfare of every citizen who has contributed to the development of the state as this administration is committed to ensuring that the polytechnic ranks amongst the best in the country”.

Dr Okoro said he will continue to work to improve on the already bright situation that this administration has brought to the school.

“The governor is giving the school all the support needed for the school to continue to grow and flourish with strides worthy of emulation.

“As regards the introduction of strict standards , students are encouraged to concentrate on their studies than engaging in vices that distract them from focusing while receiving lectures.

“The introduction of more courses has greatly increased student interest in the school.

“The aim of this administration is to advance the quality of learning and improve learning conditions while simultaneously placing emphasis on the welfare of both academic and non academic staff of the institution,” he concluded.
