Ondo: Aiyedatiwa Inaugurates New Cabinet, Warns Against Corruption, Indolence
The Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday sworn in new members of the State Executive Council.
Members of the new cabinet include Taiwo Fasoranti, Secretary to the State Government; Olukayode Ajulo, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; and Omowumi Isaac, Commissioner for Finance.
Others are Johnson Alabi, Special Adviser on Power; Seun Osamaye, Special Adviser on Women Affairs; Bola Taiwo, Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties; Simidele Odimayo, Special Adviser on Health; and Abiola Olawoye, Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Land, and Housing.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Aiyedatiwa charged the officials to immediately settle into their roles and deliver tangible results.
He has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rapid and effective governance, stating that his team is in a hurry to fulfill the promises made to the people.
Aiyedatiwa, who was inaugurated as the seventh governor of the state on Monday, said his administration’s focus is on speed and accuracy in governance.
The governor declared that the newly sworn-in officials must key into the seven-point developmental agenda, “OUR EASE,” which is designed to accelerate the state’s growth.
He further urged the appointees to embrace teamwork and collaborate effectively with career officers, permanent secretaries, and accounting officers in their various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as the success of the government depends on a unified administration with a shared vision.
To ensure accountability and efficiency, the governor announced that performance measuring techniques would be introduced, stressing that his administration would have zero tolerance for corruption, indolence, and disloyalty.
“We demand excellent performance from all appointees, for that is the primary reason we were voted into office by the good people of Ondo State,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa commended the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, and other lawmakers for their swift and thorough confirmation of the commissioners, describing their cooperation as a testament to their commitment to the progress of the state.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Fasoranti, the new SSG, expressed gratitude to the governor for the confidence reposed in them.
The SSG promised that the new appointees will work tirelessly to support the administration’s vision and deliver impactful governance to the people of Ondo State.
