Okomu Oil Surpasses Forecasts, Reports N34.8 billion Pre-Tax Profit in Q2 2025
Okomu Oil Plc has posted a pre-tax profit of N34.841 billion for Q2 2025, representing a remarkable 459% increase from the N6.236 billion recorded in the same period of 2024.
This performance not only underscores a strong earnings rebound but also exceeded internal profit expectations by more than 238%.
For the half-year period, the company’s pre-tax profit stood at N67.053 billion, reflecting consistent upward momentum.
The company’s performance was anchored by exceptional revenue growth. In Q2 alone, top-line revenue hit N71.7 billion, representing a 127.51% jump year-on-year.
Domestic sales remained the main driver, contributing over 92% of total revenue.
For the first six months of 2025, revenue reached N129.834 billion, a 73% YoY increase, while the cost of sales rose to N42.9 billion, a 41% increase.
Gross profit expanded substantially in Q2, exceeding N44 billion, with gross margins improving to 62%.
A significant improvement also came from a reduction in finance expenses. These dropped to N547 million, down from N2.9 billion in Q2 2024.
The reduction in these costs, largely associated with foreign exchange valuation losses, helped improve net earnings and profitability.
As of June 2025, total assets stood at N159.911 billion, a 36.63% increase over the six-month period.
Retained earnings also improved, rising to N76.693 billion, compared to N53.957 billion as of December 2024.
