Okocha-Led APC Kicks Off Campaigns For August 30 LG Polls

The Chief Tony Okocha led All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has begun preparations for the upcoming local government election, scheduled for August 30, 2025.

The party’s State Executive Committee held a crucial meeting at the State Party Secretariat along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, presided over by Okocha.

According to Okocha, the party will kickstart its electoral campaign with a statewide flag-off rally, which will be stepped down to the Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The meeting was attended by all State Executive Committee members, and top on the agenda was the preparation for the election.

Okocha commended the members for their dedication and commitment to the party, despite the short notice for the meeting.

He emphasized the importance of the party’s leaders leading the election campaigns in their respective LGAs, wards, and chapters towards victory for the APC.

In his opening remarks, Sir (Chief) Tony Chidugam Okocha, the Rivers APC State Chairman thanked all the members of the State Executive Committee for being present despite the short meeting notice.

According to him, “this is a further confirmation of your dedication and commitment to the party., and l commend you all.

“As you all are aware, the 2025 Local Government Election in Rivers State is just around the corner, and as leaders of the party, the onus is on us to lead the election campaigns in our different LGAs, Wards, and chapters towards victory for our party.

“The meeting today is for us to plan and prepare for the activities and events for a hitch free Statewide Campaign Flag-off Rally.

“We will kickstart the electoral campaign with a Statewide flag-off rally, and step it down to the LGAs,” he concluded.
