Ohanaeze Zones President-General To Rivers

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has zoned the position of its President General to Rivers State.
This was disclosed by the National Executive Council of Ohanaeze after its meeting held in Enugu on Wednesday.
Ohanaeze said the zoning was in accordance with the provisions of the Ohanaeze Constitution.
According to a release by the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, “It is the turn of Rivers State to produce the next president-general for Ohanaeze Ndigbo come January 2025.
“The pan-Igbo group also resolved that Ambassador Emuchay, the Secretary General of Ohanaeze, in consultation with the South-East governors, Igbo senators, traditional rulers, town unions, the clergy, stakeholders, and the Ohanaeze structures convene a meeting of Imeobi Ohanaeze as soon as possible to set up an electoral umpire for the purpose of the 2025 Ohanaeze election.”
THE WHISTLER reports that Ohanaeze observed a minute silence in honour of some eminent Igbo personages who passed on recently, including Ohanaeze ‘s late President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Sen Ifeanyi Ubah and Onyeka Onwenu.
Members expressed satisfaction with the administrative capacity of the Secretary General, Ambassador Okey Emuchay.
They also thanked the South-East Governors’ Forum, led by Sen Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, for their support to the pan-Igbo group.
Ambassador Emuchay assured that the January 2025 election would be a huge success.
