The Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, has committed to working with former Accountants-General of the Federation to utilize their knowledge in enhancing the management of the country’s treasury.

Ogunjimi revealed this during a visit from Dr. John Naiyeju and Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo, both former Accountants-General of the Federation, at his office in Abuja.

In the meeting, Dankwambo proposed that the Treasury Academy in Orozo, which is managed by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, be transformed into a degree-awarding university to improve professional training in financial management.

In the same vein, Naiyeju encouraged Ogunjimi to focus on employee welfare and promote inclusivity in the decision-making process.

In a similar development, Ogunjimi reiterated his willingness to collaborate with professional organizations that could enhance the nation’s financial sector.

He specifically appealed to his academic and professional peers, encouraging them to suggest concepts that would improve the management of the national treasury and aid in economic progress.

Ogunjimi stated that he motivates his classmates to generate ideas and proposals that will improve the management of the country’s treasury and positively influence economic growth.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Aliyu, the Chairman of the Forum of Doctorate Students, headed a delegation to the Treasury House to commend Ogunjimi on his appointment. He assured him that the forum would steadfastly support him in achieving a successful term.
