Ogun Varsity Rusticates Student After Forging Grade To Run For Elections

The Tai Solarin University of Education, (TASUED) in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, has rusticated a 200-level student of Computer Science Department, Ojo Michael, for forging his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in order to run for the Student Union elections.
A statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Office on Tuesday, also stated that an additional 30 students were also rusticated for various offences.
The statement noted that 17 students were rusticated for examination malpractice, five were sanctioned for making threats to life, and one other for fraudulent activities.
Also, the institution said it has suspended 47 students indefinitely for different offences, including impersonation, of which 10 other students had also received sanctions.
The statement noted that the decision was carried out following thorough investigations taken during the university’s Senate meeting held on July 31, 2024.
“Other various punishments were also meted out for various misconducts as recommended by the Examination Malpractice and Students’ Disciplinary Committee,” the statement said.
The school in the statement also warned that any student found guilty of misconduct would face harsh repercussions in accordance with the institution’s laws.
It also ordered the affected students to stay off-campus to avoid being embarrassed by the university’s security personnel.
