NWFL Championship: Oseni targets promotion with Sunshine Queens

Sunshine Queens head coach, Rafiu Oseni, has expressed confidence in his team’s chances of securing the promotion ticket to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) next season.

The Akure club will battle 16 other teams for promotion to the NWFL.

Sunshine Queens are in Group A2 alongside Fortress Ladies, Unification FC, and Kwara Ladies.

The winner from each group will secure an automatic promotion ticket to the NWFL.

“We are not going to underrate any team; rather, we are going to work very hard to get the job done by ensuring that the players stick to instructions and play according to the philosophy of the team,” Oseni told Sporting Hope.

The Championship is scheduled to hold from September 11 to 21, 2025, in Abia State.
